The Belgian-Franco-Luxembourgish co-production “Les intranquilles” (The Restless), by Belgian director Joachim Lafosse, and co-produced by Samsa Film, is one of the nominees for the coveted Palme d’Or award.
The movie, which was partially filmed in Luxembourg and features numerous Luxembourgish actors, focuses on a couple played by Leïla Bekhti and Damien Bonnard, as the latter struggles with bipolar disorder.

Elsewhere on the Cannes roster is Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps, appearing in two different productions this year: “Bergman Island” by Mia Hansen-Løvemat, and “Serre-moi fort” by Mathieu Almaric, which will be shown as part of the special “Cannes Premières” selection.
The Luxembourg Film Fund will also stage a pavilion at the Cannes film market, promoting Luxembourg as a production site and making new contacts. The festival will take place in July this year, due to the pandemic.
