The committee, which meets four times a year to review applications across writing, development and production, approved a broad mix of feature films, documentaries, series, and animated works, according to a press release by the Luxembourg Film Fund. Among them is also long-time RTL Today collaborator The Luxembourg Wurst, which means the Grand Duchy’s prime satirical content will soon be moving across the screen.

The next selection session will take place in February 2026.

Eight Luxembourgish-directed projects receive production support

Among the projects moving into production are eight works directed by Luxembourgish filmmakers, including:

  • Headless, a feature film by Govinda Van Maele
  • Mortal Beings, a feature film by Emile V Schlesser
  • Barababor : le livre des contes, an animated feature by Laurent Witz
  • On My Side, a short film by Rita Reis

  • Who Will Separate Us, a short film by Gil Pinheiro

In collaboration with RTL:

  • Wurst News, a short-format animated series by Jacopo Armani

Seventeen Luxembourgish-directed films supported overall

While eight Luxembourg-directed works received production funding, the selection committee emphasised that a total of 17 projects led by Luxembourgish directors obtained support across all categories, including scriptwriting and development.
