Kirps’ series encompasses seven short stories, which include text passages in Luxembourgish and a poem in German. He won over the jury with his humorous and intertextual approach, revisiting the works of famous authors like Franz Kafka or Virginia Woolf.

The award is part of the campaign “Creative Europe” and handed out annually to writers from across the Union. Further details on the literature prize can be found in the official press statement.
