From 5 June 2024, fans of anime can watch 'Kensuke's Kingdom' in Luxembourgish cinemas!
The film's premiere viewings were hosted at Ciné Utopia in March during the Lux Film Festival, and the film will finally run regularly in cinemas starting next week.
For this event, RTL Today Radio wants to give two people the possibility to win tickets to Kinepolis and the original book the film is based on! All you need to do is text the book author's name to +352 621 525 000.
The film artistically deploys adult themes in a kid-friendly storyline. On a sailing trip with his family, Michael is washed overboard during a storm and is shipwrecked on a seemingly deserted island. However, he is not alone after all: he meets a rather hostile Japanese soldier who has inhabited the island among orangutans since World War II. When the orangutans are threatened by illegal hunters, Michael and Kensuke have to combine forces to protect their existence.
If your appetite is not satiated yet, you can catch up on our very own Melissa Dalton's interview with 'Kensuke Kingdom's' award-winning director Neil Boyle here, as well as listen to the interview on Sunny Side Up with the producer Stéphan Roelants. Both the director and the producer let our radio hosts into their world as creators, and they gave precious insights into their careers.
