Lilliu’s appointment follows the analysis of 57 candidacies, and will take effect from 4 November 2019.
With more than 10 years of experience in fundraising at Médecins Sans Frontières Luxembourg, Mrs Lilliu and the team will develop and implement a new strategy to contribute financially to the museum’s activities. The strategy will cover both targeted and educational initiatives within the framework of exhibition organisation, museum collections or other events.
Lilliu, a French national, has lived and worked in Luxembourg for 19 years. After working as Partnerships and Events Manager for the Saint-Paul press group, she joined Médecins Sans Frontières in 2008 as Head of Direct Marketing. In 2011, she was appointed Director of Fundraising, a role in which she defined a multi-year strategy to collect funds, and increase acquisition and retention of donors. MSF almost tripled its annual collection as a result.
With an interest in contemporary, dynamic and committed art, Lilliu will contribute to Mudam’s development ambitions.
Museum director Suzanne Cotter said Lilliu would bring strong expertise of non-profit sponsorship, as well as a passion for art and its place in society. Her presence on the museum staff would contribute to the realisation of the museum’s missions and support their artistic and cultural activities.
