Last night, a spectacular police chase with origins in Germany came to an end on Luxembourgish territory.

Around two o'clock in the morning, the Grand Ducal Police were alerted to a fugitive driver by their German colleagues. The man had previously escaped a check and then tried losing the police on Luxembourgish territory.

Several patrols were deployed to intercept the fugitive driver on the A1 motorway. An extensive pursuit unfolded and the driver tried losing officers both on and off the motorway. After bumping several police cars in the process, the chase eventually ended after the car crashed into a traffic sign near the Munsbach exit.

Officers immediately immobilised both the driver and passenger inside the car. A search of the vehicle later showed a large amount of cannabis, other drugs, and cash money. Both men were arrested and presented to an examining magistrate.

Even though material damage occurred over the course of the pursuit, nobody was injured.
