At the beginning of 2022, the National Employment Agency (Adem) has over 10,000 job openings in its database.

Every month, Adem and the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) unveil the unemployment figures and with it, the statistics of job vacancies in Luxembourg. A figure that has been growing steadily in recent months, which bodes well for the Grand Duchy's labour market.

At the end of January 2022, Adem counted 10,769 available vacancies. Over one year, this figure has increased by 63.6%. And among these vacancies, Adem has identified the ten most sought-after professions by employers in the country.

IT research and development remains at the top of the list, with 186 jobs currently available. It is followed by accounting (159), secretarial jobs (128), kitchen staff (103), and masonry (102). Less than 100 jobs are currently available in the catering industry (83), management consultancy (82), credit and risk assessment (81), general nursing care (79), and in financial market front office positions (68).

These ten occupations alone accounted for 26.2% of the vacancies reported by employers in Luxembourg in January 2022.
