On Tuesday morning, the Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises sat down for an interview with RTL Radio.

The DP politician shared his views on the recent debate around large crowds gathering in the country's shopping centres, most notably during the Black Friday sales. He explained that he contacted the businesses after the event and tried to work out solutions so that people would be forced to spread out more.

Delles further noted that some of the country's larger stores decided to voluntarily refrain from selling food and drinks supposed to be consumed on their premises. He explained that a tightening of in-store mask restrictions was also on the table.

Most shopping centres have by now worked out a concept to assure that the maximum number of people is not surpassed and that clients do not stay in close proximity. However, Minister Delles also appealed for people to behave responsibly when they visit one of the larger stores.

He thus defended the decision to shut down the Horesca sector, as businesses do not allow for people to stay in one place without a mask for too long. He also justified the decision for open Sundays, given that 7 days allow for clients to spread out more.

Delles finally commented on the rumours surrounding the prolonging of Covid restrictions. He admitted that the administration still had to decide on how to proceed after 15 December. He was also unable to say whether or not the government coupons for overnight stays will be extended into the new year.
