The Grand Ducal police conducted various routine check-ups throughout the country from 9.30 pm on Wednesday to 2.30 am on Thursday.

The controls were undertaken in Mersch, Lintgen, Howald, Eich, on the N7, and in route de Thionville as well as route de Bonnevoie in the capital.

A total of 402 drivers had to take an alcohol test, out of which 20 turned out positive. 11 people received a warning, while nine others received fines. In three instances, the driver's alcohol levels were high enough for the police to revoke the license on the spot.

Meanwhile, a reckless driver caught the attention of the police in route de Luxembourg in Dudelange. When the driver was stopped, the alcohol test came back positive as well. The license was subsequently confiscated.
