
What is the latest on the fuel price competition in the border region? Our colleagues from RTL 5minutes have provided us with an answer and an overview of the most advantageous rates currently available.
As of Monday 25 July, the diesel price at Luxembourg’s stations stands at €1.749, close to 15 cents cheaper than at the beginning of the month, and in fact the cheapest rate in the region.
In France, the official government website for fuel prices indicates that the cheapest diesel can be bought at supermarket Leclerc de Fameck near the border: €1.885 per litre. In Amnéville and Thionville, the price is currently set at €1.90 per litre.
In Belgium, the maximum price for diesel is fixed at €2.01 per litre.
In Germany, prices vary from one station to the next, but the average range is €1.90 to €2.00 per litre diesel.
In Luxembourg, SP95 stands at €1.715 per litre across all stations. SP98 has recently risen to €1.922.
Prices in France’s border region are identical to those in the Grand Duchy, yet increase with growing distance to the border.
In Belgium, the maximum price is fixed at €1.86 per litre.
In Germany, the average price is €1.75.
