Sports competitions and meetings are slowly yet steadily being organised anew across the country.

The running track inside the Diekirch stadium received a new coating, reason enough to organise an athletics meeting to inaugurate the blue and yellow colours of Celtic Diekirch. It remains the only place in the Grand Duchy where an eight-lane running track can be found.

A few athletes from Belgium came to the meeting, while Vera Hoffmann set a national new record over one mile. It is a distance that is seldom run in Luxembourg, yet the Celtic athlete managed to reduce the old record by 11 seconds. This was already the second Luxembourgish record Hoffmann broke this season.

Celtic's other middle- and long-distance runners have also managed to perform well this season. Bob Bertemes set a new club record over one mile, while Pol and Martine Mellina shined over 5,000 metres.

Another excellent time was set by the junior Fanny Arendt, who ran 800 metres in 2 minutes and 8 seconds. Now the season is coming to an end before it had a real chance to start.
