The Luxembourgish cyclist will thereby miss the last stage of the Tour du Limousin, as well as the national championships and the European Cup.

After American cyclist Larry Warbasse tested positive for the coronavirus, French team AG2R decided to prevent three of their riders from participating in any races for two weeks: Geoffrey Bouchard, Axel Domont, and Ben Gastauer.

Gastauer conveyed in an RTL interview that he decided not to race after consulting with his team physician out of precaution. He will therefore miss some of the season highlights, such as the Luxembourgish and European Championships. His first test result was negative.
