Saturday afternoon at Cessange saw the first senior Luxembourg Cup for 10 years between the country's two senior teams Rugby Club Luxembourg and Walferdange.
Despite terrible weather conditions a sizable crowd turned up to witness the spectacle.
RCL started strongly playing into the wind, with early trys from Robin Dex and Captain Oisín Kilgallen, leading 15-3 at half-time it looked like RCL would pull away in the second half with the wind behind them.
Conditions were not ideal for running rugby but it was Walferdange who played with more cohesion and brought the score to within 10 points at 20-10 and were pushing hard before RCL scored the decisive try to complete a 27-10 victory.
