The Luxembourgish swimmer Raphael Stacchiotti has qualified to represent Luxembourg at the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year.
The 27-year-old swimmer achieved the 200 metre medley minimum at the quarter finals of the Swimming World Championships in South Korea. With a time of 1'59''62, Stacchiotti has qualified for the 2020 Olympics.
Additionally, Stacchiotti has beaten his own record, established at 2'00''21 at the Rio de Janeiro Olmypic Games.
The swimmer expressed his joy at qualifying for the Olympics, but his time at the World Championships has not yet ended as he qualified for the semi-final.
