This Saturday saw Rugby Club Luxembourg take on RK Heusenstamm in a much-anticipated clash. RCL were coming off the back of two very encouraging fixtures including an away win against RG Heidelberg.

Heusenstamm were coming off a tight loss the previous week. Clearly for both teams there was a lot to play for. However, it was RCL who came off the blocks faster and scored two unanswered tries through a strong run by number 8 Oisin Kilgallen and a try out wide from Kevin Kombia.

The visitors answered after building increasing pressure before half time and eventually rumbling over. Kevin Kombia pulled one back for RCL, with Scott Browne adding the extras. The half time score stood at RCL 19-10 RK Heusenstamm.

The 2nd half started slower for RCL, a penalty taking the score to 22-10 but Heusenstamm were soon back on the scoreboard with a penalty try. At 22-17 the game could have turned, but RCL stayed in the game with some gutsy defence, being rewarded with a penalty which Scott Browne duly converted. With 10 minutes to go, RCL added some finishing touches through Jean-Baptiste Vert and Quentin Dee.

Full time score, RCL 39-17 RK Heusenstamm.
