The Luxembourgish sportswoman was able to beat her opponent at the Women's Tennis Association Brisbane International in three sets.

Mandy Minella started the Brisbane International off on a high note on Thursday night. Marking the first match of the season, Minella started at the Brisbane International with a victory.

The Luxembourger beat her Japanese opponent, Kurumi Nara, who is in 163th place in the global women's tennis ranking. Minella, who ranks at 103, won with a score of 3-6, 6-1, and 7-6.

Minella will go on to play the Australian Destanee Aiava, who ranks 250, on Saturday morning at 1am our time.
