According to the German Bild, the police in Merzig had an unusual encounter with a Luxembourg-registered vehicle.

The Mercedes had been speeding at 112 km/h in Merzig instead of the allowed 80 km/h. The man was in quite the lavish car and was wearing a Rolex, and simple held out a €100 bill when the police stopped him.

However, speeding in Germany is punishable by a €190 fine, making his gesture insufficient.

An additional Luxembourg driver was stopped during a roadside check near Weiler in Germany. The police reportedly found drugs in the car. He was ordered to pay a fine of €900 and was instructed to leave his car on the spot. According to the German press, his wife had to come to his rescue.
