Photographer Roger Herman managed to capture some impressive photographs of a wolf in Belgium's Haute Fagnes nature park.

The park is only a 50-minute drive away from Luxembourg's northern border with Belgium. Roger Herman is a member of Belgium's "Wolf Network" and the avid photographer managed to take fascinating pictures of the wild animal.

Wallonia's Minister for Agriculture and Nature René Collin was absolutely delighted and shared the pictures on his Twitter account. "The images taken are of such quality that they leave no doubt as to the identification of the species," he told journalists of the Soir newspaper. He happily added that the wolf seemed to be "in good health."

The authorities had already established the presence of the wolf in this region in June 2018. A camera trap had successfully captured a photo of the extraordinary animal (see below).
