Police in Diekirch seized an electric scooter and issued a temporary driving ban after its intoxicated rider was involved in an accident on Tuesday afternoon.
A person was hospitalised following an accident involving an electric scooter on the Route d'Ettelbruck in Diekirch on Tuesday afternoon. Police were notified of the incident at approximately 2pm.
According to initial reports, the individual fell on the pavement and sustained injuries. After locating the person involved, police determined they were clearly intoxicated, a finding later confirmed by a positive breathalyser test.
A subsequent inspection of the electric scooter revealed a further infraction: the vehicle's maximum speed was modified to 40 km/h, significantly exceeding the legal limit of 25 km/h.
As a result of these violations, police seized the e-scooter and issued a temporary driving ban to the individual.
