Several break-ins took place over the weekend, according to the Grand Ducal police.

On Sunday morning, a thief gained access to a store on Rue Zenon Bernard, Esch-sur-Alzette, breaking a window and stealing cash from the register.

Several hours later, two burglars broke into a family residence on Rue Habig, again in Esch-sur-Alzette. The suspects used a window to gain access but were interrupted by one of the residents, causing them to flee the premises.

In Luxembourg City, an intruder entered the basement of a block of flats on Rue de Beggen, making use of an open garage door. The individual broke into ten different cellars, damaging some of the doors in the process.

The police have launched investigations into all three incidents, and reminded citizens to ensure their basements and garages are secure when leaving the home.
