As part of the "Wintertime 2023" road safety campaign, the police will be conducting more traffic checks between mid-October and the end of December.

The campaign focuses on vehicle lighting, tyres, and overall technical conditions.

During the initial preventive phase, set to conclude on 19 November, minor lighting defects have resulted in defect reports. This approach offers individuals a five-day window to address the issues. Since the campaign's initiation, a total of 115 such defect reports have been issued.

In 61 cases, the police have issued fines for serious technical defects. These infractions include 24 cases of tyre defects, 14 cases of serious lighting problems, and 11 cases where the driver's field of vision was in some form restricted.

In six cases, the number plates were illegible, improperly attached, or failed to meet stipulated requirements.
