The Luxembourg Red Cross is assisting the international response to devastating natural disasters in Morocco and Libya.
Daniel Ledesma, a project manager working for the Luxembourg Red Cross, appeared on the Sam Steen Show to discuss the organisation's latest efforts, after the earthquake in Morocco and flooding in Libya left thousands dead last week.
Ledesma said that the charity is aiding to support survivors, and will remain in the countries to develop sustainable rebuilding solutions. It previously issued a call for donations in response to the Morocco earthquake.
The Luxembourg Red Cross has extensive experience in sub-Saharan Africa, working on humanitarian habitat programmes in Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Chad.
Along with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, the organisation is organising a conference in Neumünster Abbey in October titled the Innovation on Humanitarian Habitat Conference.
This unique event proposes an opportunity to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for a more efficient and respectful humanitarian habitat by gathering researchers, humanitarian experts, industrialists and students for a technical and scientific exchange complemented by exhibitions and round tables.
