CFL reported an emergency incident on the line between Luxembourg City and Mamer on Tuesday, bringing trains on line 50 to a standstill for most of the day.

Following an incident on the railway in Bertrange, trains were stopped in both directions on line 50, which links Luxembourg City and Kleinbettingen.

CGDIS confirmed a person had been hit by a train at around 11.30am and taken to hospital for treatment. Further details on their condition have not been released.

CFL teams worked to restore train traffic "as soon as possible". Disruption lasted until around 5pm, after which train services resumed between the capital and Arlon.

Travellers were advised to check the CFL website before embarking on their journey.
