Two burglary attempts, one of which proved unsuccessful, took place on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the latest police report.

A would-be burglar attempted to break into a house on Cité Henri Grey, Differdange, between 7am on Wednesday and 8pm on Thursday, first climbing over a metal gate and then attempting to force the cellar door open. When this attempt failed, the thief broke a terrace window, but could only gain access to a locked room on the ground floor. After several other attempts to break into the property proved unsuccessful, the thief gave up and made their escape.

In Altwies, a family home was targeted by burglars between midday and 5pm on Thursday. The suspects broke in through a glass door at the back of the house, taking a number of valuables and cash from the property.
