In the context of World AIDS Day, the Ministry of Health has put out a statement to remind people of the persisting danger posed by the spread of the disease.

1 December marks World AIDS Day, an awareness event warning of the dangerous spread of the HIV infection and commemorating those who lost their lives to the disease.

In Luxembourg, 50 people contracted HIV in 2021, 17 more than during the previous year. A total of 1,161 people in the country are known to live with an infection.

In the context of the global awareness day, the Ministry of Health intends to improve its level of communication around the disease and ways of preventing it, including the use of antiretrovirals. For more information, please consult this public health website.
