The Grand Ducal police reported a number of burglaries overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.

Police in the capital arrested two individuals on Rue de Hollerich overnight following a break-in. Officers arriving at the scene found a glass entrance door had been smashed, although there were no other signs of entry. A search of the area around the building revealed a car with two suspects inside. When approached, the driver became aggressive towards police; a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed the two were in possession of an air soft gun and two magazines of ammunition. They were consequently arrested; the car, which was not registered correctly, was confiscated; and a complaint was raised against both suspects.

Another incident took place in Hollerich earlier on Wednesday, after a residential property on Rue Baudoin was targeted by burglars twice; once at 2.30pm and again at 7.00pm.

In Esch-sur-Alzette, a flat on Rue d'Audun was broken into between 8.30 and 9.00am on Wednesday.

Burglars also broke into a family home in Oetrange, on Rue de Moutfort, at around 5.00pm.

In Limpertsberg, one or multiple individuals tried to gain access to two homes on Rue Michel Lentz, but were thwarted in the attempt.

Again in Limpertsberg, thieves targeted a café on Avenue Pasteur between 10.00pm and 6.00am, stealing bottles of alcohol as well as cash.

Finally, burglars broke into a business in the regional activity zone in Ehlerange between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, searching the premises and stealing a number of items.

Police have launched investigations into the incidents, while their experts have conducted surveys of the targeted buildings.
