A presumed culprit was arrested near the central railway station in Luxembourg City following a mugging that took place around midday on Wednesday, according to the police.

Two pedestrians were mugged in Rue Joseph Junck. A woman had her mobile phone stolen and sustained injuries to her head. She was admitted to hospital for a check-up.

After a brief search, officers were able to locate the culprit in Rue du Fort Wedell. The woman was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office. She will be presented to an examining magistrate on Thursday.

The mobile phone was returned to its owner.
