The police carried out alcohol checks at two locations in eastern Luxembourg between 4.30pm and 7.30pm on Thursday evening.

The officers, dispatched to Remich and Canach by order of the public prosecutor's office, checked a total of 184 motorists who were driving in the areas at the time.

Four drivers turned out to be inebriated. Two of them were fined while the other two received penalty notices. The police stress that no driving licences were withdrawn on Thursday evening as a result of these checks.
