Jessie Thill was sworn in as the new MP for the Greens in the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday.

The Walferdange politician succeeded Carlo Back, who recently decided to step down from his responsibilities in the Chamber.

In her first address to the Chamber, Thill expressed her desire to focus on housing, climate protection, and gender equality: "As a committed feminist, I intend to work towards a more inclusive society. It has become clear to me that the real-life experiences of young women in particular are not being discussed enough. Topics like miscarriages, abortions, sexual education, and menstruation can no longer be out of bounds."

At the age of 25, Thill has now become the youngest MP to ever be appointed to the Chamber, an honour formerly held by her party colleague Djunar Bernard.
