Huge quantities of manure have been polluting the Nothomb stream near the village of Holtz since Wednesday morning.

Manure has spilled into the stream, where it has spread and polluted the water of the Nothomb stream near Holtz.

The police, but also the local fire brigade, and agents of the Water Management Authority went to the site on Wednesday morning to observe the damage. Dead fish were found further downstream.

The public prosecutor's office has been informed of the incident, a police spokesperson said.

The Nothomb river rises has its source near Holtz in the north-east of Luxembourg and flows southwards into the Attert.
