The Luxembourg Tourism Awards ceremony took place on Thursday, as prizes were handed out in nine different categories.

The winners were selected for their innovation, passion and creativity in the field of tourism.

The Minette metropolis of Esch-sur-Alzette triumphed in three categories, as the city was named “most deserving municipality”. The Esch animal park and its "Escher Bamhaiser" treehouse guest accommodation also received awards.

Hôtel Graace in Bonnevoie won the hotels category, while the Beaufort camping park was awarded best campsite for its innovative wooden teepees, a first for Luxembourg camping. In the gastronomy category, the newly-renovated Airfield restaurant in Findel emerged victorious.

Two websites were also awarded tourism prizes: Georges Krack's explore.lu, which offers mini-bus tours of Luxembourg's best Moselle wines and crémants, and the sightseeing.lu app, which offers tourists a visual guide to 120 different tourist sites, so they can plan their unique trip.

The tourism centre at Echternach Lake won best infrastructure, thanks to its wide variety of sporting activities.

The awards were handed out by Minister of Tourism Lex Delles.
