A number of people gathered in "Little Switzerland" on Saturday to help clean up the forest.

Christophe Origer, president of the regional tourism office, was also present at the cleanup day and joined by Minister for the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development Carole Dieschbourg, as well as Carole Hartmann, MP from the eastern constituency.

The World Cleanup Day is commemorated in 180 countries around the world, and ultimately aims at creating a zero waste environment. In Mulllerthal alone, volunteers helped clean up 200 kilometres of hiking trails.

The event was organised with the help of the CovidCheck system.
