Six Luxembourgish team members were deployed to Belgium during the recent floods, while 26 were sent to Rhineland-Palatinate/Rheinland-Pfalz to provide additional support.
The emergency service members included firefighters, nurses, as well as ambulance drivers.
In order to thank them for their services, Ministers Bettel and Bofferding invited them to the State Ministry on Tuesday for croissants and coffee.
Minister Bofferding used the opportunity to praise the amicable and supportive relationship between the Grand Duchy and its neighbouring countries, which has once again proven its worth over the past couple of days.
PM Bettel underlined that Luxembourg will continue its support during these challenging times: "In times of need, solidarity ignores any borders."
