On Tuesday, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel was a guest on RTL.lu's "Wellebriecher" podcast and talked about Luxembourg's strategy out of the coronavirus crisis.
Bettel discussed the vaccination campaign, rapid tests, and potential decisions to relax certain restrictions in April.
The state council will meet on Wednesday to discuss Luxembourg's strategy in the upcoming weeks. During his interview, Bettel confirmed that there are options on the table that would include the opening of terraces.
The Prime Minister stated that if the state council decided to relax certain measures, he would be calling for them to be limited to exterior activities. Bettel explained that the current figures do not allow the government to declare that the virus is no longer a threat in closed spaces. He added that, compared to indoor activities, outdoor activities also required less obligations to be imposed on residents to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
