The Luxembourgish delegation is currently in the midst of preparations ahead of the summer Olympics, at the moment still scheduled to take place from 23 July until 8 August 2021 in Tokyo.

The Grand Duke's visit took place at the High Performance Training and Recovery Center (HPTRC), where he talked to the country's leading athletes and observed their training sessions. He also took a tour of the facility, which is operated by the Luxembourg Institute for High Performance in Sports (LIHPS).

Grand Duke Henri, who is a member of the international Olympic council and board member on the Luxembourg Olympic and Sports Committee (COSL), was welcomed by Minister of Sport Dan Kersch, COSL and LIHPS president André Hoffmann, and Marc Mathékowitsch, who is the president of the Coque Sport Center.
