Luxembourg has one of the worst rates of death from viral hepatitis in Europe.

According to the EU's statistics service Eurostat, there are 14.9 deaths per million inhabitants of the Grand Duchy from the disease every year.

This leaves Luxembourg as the fifth-worst affected country in the EU, with only Italy (32.8), Latvia (31.0), Austria (18.8) and Hungary (15.1) ahead.

On the other end of the scale, Finland (0.4), Slovenia (0.9) and the Netherlands (1.9) do not suffer from high levels of hepatitis, a liver disease which overall causes around 5,500 deaths in the EU per year.
