MeteoLux has placed the Grand Duchy under yellow alert for Friday and Saturday after temperatures are predicted to stay high over the weekend.
MeteoLux initially announced the yellow alert for Friday, with scorching temperatures expected to reach 34°C - the hottest day of 2020 so far. The alert is due to begin at 2pm and will last until 8pm.
On Friday morning, the forecasters announced the alert would be extended to cover Saturday as well, with high pressure ensuring temperatures will remain around 32°C on Saturday afternoon.
The skies will be clear and sunny for most of the day, although there is potential for storms on Saturday evening.
