The Ministry of Health announced earlier this Wednesday that each resident hoping to travel abroad will be able to get one free virus test.
The ministry explained in a statement that this step will simplify the current procedure of requesting a Covid-19 test in order to be able to travel to a number of countries that have implemented travel restrictions.
As of 31 July, prospective travelers will be able to request a free test on the www.covid19.lu website. The ministry added that, for the time being, it is possible to get an appointment until the end of August. Each resident is eligible for one free test.
The ministry reiterated that many countries do not require travellers to present a negative virus test.
Requests that have been accepted before 31 July will remain valid.
As a reminder, people traveling for work-related reasons are also eligible for a free virus test. Businesses can apply via mail to covid19@houseofentrepreneurship.lu.
