The annual fundraiser Relay for Life should have been held over the last weekend, an event dedicated to raising funds and support for those with cancer.

Cancer patients are among the risk groups with low immunity, and are therefore considered vulnerable people in the ongoing health crisis.

Lucienne Thommes, director of the Cancer Foundation, confirmed that all services are continuing to function as best they could - for example, psychologists can be reached by telephone.

Hospitals have been equipped with safety measures specially designed for patients who must undergo regular treatments, according to Bernd Hoffmann of the CHdN (Centre Hospitalier du Nord).

Even in case of illness, it is important to follow all the instructions from the health authorities and, as far as possible, to stay at home.
