The introduction of electric mobility grants have already had an impact on sales, the car constructors and importers federation FEBIAC Luxembourg confirmed.

As FEBIAC announced, the market share of pure electric vehicles doubled compared to this time previously. By the end of August, electric vehicles represented 1.7% of the market share, having laid at 0.8% this time last year.

Hybrids and plug-in hybrids have also seen increases, rising from 3.4% to 4.8% in representation. Globally, the government's electric mobility grant has been a success story in terms of incentivising customers to move to electric vehicles.

Petrol-based vehicles have also seen increased shares, but diesel market shares have dropped from 46.9% to 42.4%. The next years will also see hundreds of new electric vehicle models presented.
