CGDIS are looking to recruit 50 firemen this year. Potential candidates have to be over 18, and have completed at least five years of high school.

Several physical tests are part of the recruitment process. Potential candidates had the opportunity to gain some insight into what exactly this entails in Dudelange on Saturday.

Last year's candidates showed that, to be a fireman, not only does not need to be physically strong and generally in good shape, dexterity is also of high importance. For instance, training in the form of navigating an obstacle course whilst wearing a fireman uniform and respiratory protective device is provided.

However, failing to climb the 30 metre tall firefighter ladder results in being eliminated from the recruitment process.
