The financial sector watchdog has released warnings against SMS and email phishing attempts sent to clients of Luxembourg banks.
The Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF) is warning people to be vigilant against ongoing phishing scams.
Clients of Luxembourg banks have recently received texts or emails, demanding they follow a link to online banking. This link then leads to a pirated version of the online banking site, with the aims of stealing the user's credentials, such as passwords, user ID and other sensitive information which could then be used to commit fraud.
To avoid this, people are strongly advised to always go directly to the bank's website without following links from any SMS or email.
