From drunk drivers to an attempted burglary and stolen LED lights... it was another eventful Friday night for Luxembourg's police.
The LED lights of a forestry vehicle were stolen between Buederscheid and Nocher. Police are looking for potential witnesses; if you have relevant information, please contact them at 244891000.
Around 10pm on Friday, an unknown suspect attempted to break into a home on Kehlen's "am Duerf" street. The burglary was thwarted when the inhabitant heard unusual noises and consequently caught the would-be burglar red-handed. The suspect immediately fled the scene. Police officers were unable to track him down.
Following the order of the public prosecutor's office, police checked the blood alcohol levels of motorists in Ell and Redange on the N22 as well as in Bettborn on the N12. The alcohol checks were conducted between 11.30pm and 3.30am on Friday night. 159 drivers had to take the breathalyzer test, which came back positive in eight cases. Four drivers were significantly over the legal maximum and were forced to hand over their driver's license.
Another drunk driver was caught Saturday morning at 5.45am on Rue Bender in Luxembourg City. Police officers also suspended his license.
Child on bike hit by car
On Friday evening, another accident occurred at 7.30pm in Kirchberg. A child on a bike was hit by a car near the university. The child sustained injured and was attended to by emergency services and firefighters from Luxembourg City.
