CFL reported a technical problem near Dommeldange station currently affecting train circulation and schedules earlier on Friday.
A technical problem halted railway traffic at Dommeldange station at around 3.30pm, resulting in disruptions on the national rail network. CFL issued a warning that trains could potentially be delayed or cancelled.
Primarily, trains between Luxembourg and the north of the country were affected. CFL estimated that the disruption to rail traffic would last around two hours until 6pm, but the situation returned to normal just after 5pm.
At 3.43pm, CFL also announced that a TER (transport express régional) train was cancelled between Luxembourg and Metz. There were further cancellations on this line. Whilst CFL has yet to communicate details on the subject, TER Grand Est identified the cause of the disruption as people on the railway near Uckange.
