At 5.24am on Saturday morning, the Pétange fire department was called to Rue Belle-Vue because of a burning garden shed.

Upon their arrival, they realised that it was a more substantial construction and in view of the progression of the flames, reinforcements were called in order to guarantee the water supply.

It was a complicated intervention due to the fragile nature of the structure which eventually collapsed. The flames were still very bright below the metal plates and fire fighters were also faced with the difficult task removing three gas cylinders to prevent them from exploding.

The fire fighters eventually managed to master the blaze, but the intervention lasted for several hours. 17 fire fighters, 5 vehicles and several police officers were finally able to leave the scene at around 9am.
