The lack of the required licenses and summer tyres on one of the vehicles certainly did not help the situation.
Two foreign vehicles attracted police officers' attention during a standard check on Rue de Bascharage in Schouweiler. When they checked the vehicles, they found them both to be overloaded with bottles.
One of the vans was overloaded by 4,020 kilos, the second one carried 2,791 kg of excess goods. When carrying loads of this weight, driver's are required to have a C or C1 category license, which both drivers failed to show.
In addition to this, they were unable to show proof of the required insurance documents. To add insult to injury, and one of the vehicles had been driving around in heavily used summer tyres, despite the low temperatures outside.
Both vehicles were seized on a court order and the drivers were ticketed on the spot.
