On Thursday evening, the CGDIS national emergency services organisation had to attend to two Christmas-related fire incidents.

At 6.15pm, a Christmas tree in a bar on Montée du Grund caught flames. Luxembourg City firefighters responded to the incident. There was no damage to anybody, except the Christmas tree.

A second fire occurred at the Dudelange Christmas market at 7.30pm. One of the gas canisters used at the market caught fire. Local firefighters extinguished the fire without any damage occurring.
