The RTL longwave transmitter location in Junglinster/Beidweiler will soon see innovation. There are plans to install solar panels over four hectares.

RTL Group shared stated that the solar panels will produce large amounts of electricity as of spring 2020.

The current location of RTL's longwave transmitter will also become the site of Luxembourg's second largest solar park in a collaboration between CLT-UFA and Enovos.

Once completed, the solar panels will produce around seven million kilowatt-hours of electricity which will cover the consumption of around 1,800 households.

The first RTL antennas were installed in Junglinster in 1932. Now, the site will see a new chapter in its history with diffusing emissions over ultrashort waves.
