The large-scale construction work on the CR364 is advancing more quickly than anticipated and might even be finished before the summer of 2019.

Marc Ries of the national roads administration (ponts & chaussées) confirmed the new expected completion date. The dry summer months enabled the construction work to advance swiftly.

The CR364 between Berdorf and Echternach suffered large-scale destruction when it was hit by masses of rain in June 2018. About 10,000 cubic metres of soil were shifted by the heavy rain and needed to be moved back and secured before the road can be reopened.

The construction works will come in at around €2 million. All in all, the damage caused to the region's infrastructure will set the taxpayer back around €8 million.
