With the official school start approaching fast, Luxembourg's police announced increased traffic checks near schools.
The grand duchy's schools will reopen their doors on 17 September but, rest assured, teachers and students will not be the only ones busy on that day. This Friday, Luxembourg's police already announced an increased number of traffic checks near educational institutions. This is to ensure that this year's school start is as safe as possible for everyone.
There will be a series of speed, parking and seat belt checks.
Time passes but general safety advice remains the same:
- parents should educate their children about keeping themselves safe, make sure they are visible and not put them in dangerous situations. They must also ensure that their children have fastened their seat belts, even if the daily ride to school is a short one.
- drivers need to be extra cautious and reduce their speed in school zones.
